Thailand Music Store Private Label Project

Case Photo Placeholder Replace with factory/store photos
Customer Background

A well-established music instrument retailer with 12 brick-and-mortar stores across Thailand. They wanted to launch their own brand of electric guitars and basses to offer competitive pricing and exclusive designs in the Southeast Asian market.

Challenge

As a first-time private-label entrant, the customer had no experience in instrument manufacturing. They needed a reliable partner who could guide them through the entire process — from spec development to final delivery — while keeping per-unit costs low enough for retail margins at an entry-level price point.

Solution

Six Finger Music proposed a streamlined ST and TL model lineup using a standardized component platform (poplar bodies, maple necks, ceramic pickups) to reduce costs while maintaining consistent quality. We provided full spec guidance, sample iterations, and branded headstock decals with custom packaging.

Production Process

After two sample rounds — the first for ergonomics and playability feedback, the second for final finish and logo approval — we proceeded directly to full production. The order included 300 units split across 3 color variants with branded gig bags and hang tags. On-site QC photos were shared weekly during the 95-day production window.

European Headless Guitar Brand

Case Photo Placeholder Replace with headless guitar photos
Customer Background

A Scandinavian startup aiming to disrupt the mid-range guitar market with a modern headless electric guitar design. Their target customers were progressive rock and metal players who valued ergonomics, portability, and contemporary aesthetics.

Challenge

Headless guitars require specialized hardware (tuners, bridge systems) and precise neck pocket engineering that most mass-production factories aren't equipped to handle. The customer needed a manufacturer with proven experience in non-traditional builds and the flexibility to accommodate a proprietary body shape.

Solution

Six Finger Music's R&D team reverse-engineered the customer's prototype to optimize it for CNC production without sacrificing the original design intent. We sourced a reliable headless hardware supplier and built dedicated jigs for the unique neck-through-body construction. The spec included roasted maple necks, poplar wings, and custom-wound high-output humbuckers.

Production Process

Three sample iterations: first for structural validation and hardware compatibility, second for ergonomic adjustments and weight balance, third for final finish and electronics. The customer visited our factory during the second sample stage to fine-tune the neck profile in person. Full production of 400 units followed with weekly photo reports and a dedicated QC checklist specific to the headless design.

Custom Guitar Program for Music School

Case Photo Placeholder Replace with school/student photos
Customer Background

A private music school chain in the United States with 8 campuses and over 3,000 enrolled students. They wanted to launch a "Learn & Own" program where students receive a custom-branded instrument as part of their tuition package.

Challenge

The school needed a budget-friendly electric guitar that was comfortable for young beginners (ages 8–16), durable enough for daily classroom use, and could accommodate the school's branding. With a target cost well below typical retail pricing, they needed a manufacturer capable of delivering value without cutting corners on playability or safety.

Solution

Six Finger Music designed a purpose-built student model with a slightly thinner body (reduced weight for younger players), rolled fretboard edges for comfort, sealed tuning machines for classroom durability, and non-toxic finishes. The school's logo was applied as a truss rod cover plate and silk-screened onto the headstock. A custom 5-color program was offered so each campus could have its own color variant.

Production Process

After a single sample round to validate the ergonomic changes, the order of 600 units was produced in 90 days. Each guitar underwent an additional "classroom readiness" inspection — checking output jack tightness, strap button security, and tuning stability — beyond our standard QC protocol. The instruments were shipped in bulk packaging with foam cutouts to minimize per-unit shipping cost.
